Essential Waters to cleanse and tone

from £12.00

These essential waters or hydrosols have the cleansing and healing properties of the plant, so can be utilised as part of your skincare routine. They are gentle for skin, so enjoy and choose the aroma you love the most. You can also choose one that focuses on your skin issue. For example, Bay has been shown to help heal psoriasis, Rose Pelargonium has been shown to help heal rosacea, and Peppermint and Spearmint soothe itching and inflammation. In order to help people understand what a hydrosol or hydrolat is, I have decided to call them ‘Essential Waters’. They are often called ‘aromatic waters’ or ‘floral waters’ as well.

These waters are the essence of the plant distilled in the water and are produced in the process of distilling for essential oils. They can be used for many other purposes, according to the plant. If you would like to know more, please visit my hydrosols page

Most commercial distillers will put these waters back in the still, often using alcohol or butane as well, in order to maximise the yield of oil.

My approach is only to carry out only one pure steam distillation of the plant, without the use of any chemicals, so that both the waters and the oils are absolutely pure and free from any chemicals.
