Calm Down Tea

£7.00

Mistletoe is used in the treatment of cancer in Europe and is acknowledged to be helpful in the reduction of blood pressure, anxiety and in thermo-regulation, amongst other things. The berries are known to be toxic and should be avoided. Because it acts on the heart hormones to reduce blood pressure and calm, it should be avoided by those with low blood pressure and problematically slow heart rates. It should also be avoided during pregnancy, as in large doses it may cause the foetus to abort (this attribute is in the berry, but caution is best).

I mix a generous amount of mistletoe from our orchard with lemon balm (for anxiety) and peppermint (flavour) to blend this delicious tea. If you are stressed, it is a great ‘go to’ and will take you down a notch or two fairly quickly. I often make a pot in the evening to help manage my blood pressure and relax.

Simply add around half to 1 teaspoon to a tea ball o muslin teabag, or about 2 dessertspoons to a tea pot, pour boiling water over, leave to sit for 5 minutes and enjoy.

I grow all of my plants organically, although they are not certified (this saves cost and workload!). Anything I have to buy in, I make sure it is organic and from an ethical source. Once the bees have taken their fill of pollen and nectar, I harvest the plants from my garden.

Presented in a reusable/recyclable/returnable 1lb honey jar, av.weight 40g, this is a generous supply that will last longer than a commercial tea.
