Blackcurrant Zinger Tea

This is a new tea. Refreshing and contains herbs that help to cleanse those unwanted proteins from your vessels. Blackcurrant and nettle help to break down uric acid, whilst nettle has a myriad of beneficial properties, including those of a diuretic (mild). Ginger and citrus peel help improve circulation and reduce inflammation. There is a small amount of liquorice for flavour.

It will not cure your arthritis or rheumatism, but it will support your efforts and is an enjoyable tea. Add a little lemon hydrosol or a slice of lemon or orange if you would like a little more zest.

Simply put around half to 1 teaspoon or more (according to taste) to a tea ball or muslin teabag, or about 2 dessertspoons to a tea pot, pour boiling water over, leave to sit for 5 minutes and enjoy.

Did you know?

Blackcurrant, redcurrant and white currant leaves share many of the properties of the fruit, so are high in phenolic compounds and antioxidants and have been shown to be act against some types of cancer.

Of interest for people with osteoporosis: Blackcurrant leaves also contain high levels of boron, which is necessary to maintain health bones. The catalytic chain to ensure healthy bones is : Boron - vitamin k2 – vitamin d3 – calcium. With the precursors, calcium struggles to be effectively absorbed. Boron is mainly found in water and some few foods such as eggs and avocados.

I grow all of my plants organically, although they are not certified (this saves cost and workload!). Anything I have to buy in, I make sure it is organic and from an ethical source. Once the bees have taken their fill of pollen and nectar, I harvest the plants from my garden.

Presented in a reusable/recyclable/returnable 1lb honey jar, av.weight  40g, this is a generous supply that will last longer than a commercial tea.
